Tantalum (Ta) Metal

Tantalum (Ta) is a shiny, silvery-gray, heavy, and very hard metal with a color like platinum when polished. It is very resistant to corrosion. It has good thermal conductivity, a high melting point, superior gettering characteristics, and good “valve” action.

Purity: 99.9%, 99.95%, 99.98%, and 99.995%
Typical Applications

Tantalum (Ta) is used in the production of electronic components, such as mobile phones.
Tantalum also has been widely used in the making of surgical implants.
It also has been used with equipment handling corrosive materials, electrodes for neon lights, AC/DC rectifiers, and in glass for special lenses.

Tantalum alloys have been used in missile technology, turbine blades, rocket nozzles, and nose caps for supersonic aircraft.
