Strontium (Sr) Metal
Finely powdered strontium metal is pyrophoric. Strontium salts impart a bright red color when burned and are used in flares and pyrotechnics.
Purity: 99.5% – 99.9%
Strontium Metal (Sr) is used to produce ferrite magnets and refine zinc. The primary use for strontium was in glass for color television cathode-ray tubes which prevented X-ray emission, but this use has declined. Strontium isotopes are the best high-energy beta-emitters and can generate electricity for space vehicles, remote weather stations, and navigation buoys.
Ampouled under argon with a thin oil layer and packaged under argon
Strontium Metal (Sr) TSCA (SARA Title III) Status: CDC Listing
