Calcium (Ca) is a silvery-white, soft, relatively light alkaline earth metal that does not naturally occur in its free state. It is the most unreactive of this family; however, it still tarnishes rapidly in the air and reacts with water.

Typical Applications
Calcium (Ca) Metal is used as an alloying agent for aluminum, beryllium, copper, lead and magnesium alloys and as a deoxidizer for some high-temperature alloys. Other uses include a getter in electron tubes and a reducing agent in preparing other metals such as thorium and uranium.
