FerroAluminum
Ferroaluminum (FeAl) is an alloy containing iron and aluminum that has a variety of industrial uses. This ferroalloy usually consists of 40%-60% aluminum but can contain as much as 80%. The presence of iron in aluminum helps in the decrease of casting defects. It improves tensile, yield, and hardness while maintaining strength at high temperatures.
Typical Applications
FerroAluminium is used in producing steel as a deoxidizing agent. It is also added to steel to densify the resultant metal. It is used to produce low melting point alloys and can be added to any alloy to improve the heat sensitivity of the resulting alloy. It is also used in the manufacturing of welding electrodes, AlNiCo magnets, Ferro Aluminium Thermite, and nitriding processes.
