Ferro Titanium (FeTi)
Ferro titanium is an alloy composed of iron (Fe) and titanium (Ti). Reade offers a 40% Ferro titanium that is a low aluminum grade. Ferro titanium is used to increase strength, toughness, and resistance to corrosion. It also improves the weldability and machinability of metals it is added to.
Typical Chemical Analysis
Titanium 38% – 43%
Aluminum 2.0% max.
Silicon 2.0% max.
Carbon 0.15% max.
Sulfur 0.035% max.
Phosphorus 0.035% max
Typical Applications
Ferro titanium is primarily used as an additive in steel production to improve the properties of the steel.
In addition to its use in steel production, ferrotitanium is also used in other alloys, such as aluminum alloys and superalloys used in aerospace and other high-performance applications.
