Titanium Hydride (TiH₂)

Titanium Hydride, TiH₂, is a brittle, metallic-gray solid that is stable at room temperature and inert to water and most chemical reagents. It is highly flammable, denser than water, and pyrophoric in dust.

Note: Titanium Hydride is a reducing agent that reacts rapidly and dangerously with oxygen and other oxidizing agents, even weak ones. Titanium Hydride is incompatible with acids, alcohols, amines, and aldehydes.
Typical Applications

Titanium hydride is used as a source of titanium for compounds and powder, alloys, and coatings. It acts as a getter in vacuum systems and electronic tubes and is also used in pyrotechnics, ceramics, and sports equipment. It also is used as a laboratory reagent and as a blowing agent.
