Tantalum Carbide (TaC)
Purity: 99.0% to 99.5%
Tantalum carbide is used as an additive to tungsten carbide/cobalt (WC/Co) powder to enhance the physical properties of the sintered product and prevent grain growth to allow optimal hardness. It is used as a coating to provide wear resistance, in places where hardness or mechanical resistance is needed, such as tool bits for cutting tools, and sharp instruments. It is also used as a coating for steel molds in the injection molding of aluminum alloys.
