Spodumene
Spodumene, or Lithium Aluminum Silicate, once served as the most important ore of lithium metal. It is an industrial source of lithium and its salts for use in ceramics, mobile phones, and automotive batteries, medicine, and as a fluxing agent. Typical Applications
Spodumene is a gem material. Industrial uses include rechargeable batteries to power vehicles, cell phones, tablet computers, cameras, music players, GPS units, and other portable electronic devices. It has produced ceramics, glass, aluminum alloys, and high-temperature grease.
