Silicon Carbide (SiC)
Various purities are available from a low purity metallurgical grade black (88 – 92%), to 99.0% (abrasive grade black), 99.2% (black), 99.5% (dark green), 99.7% (light green), and up to 99.9995% for sputtering targets
Silicon carbide is used to manufacture abrasives, grinding wheels, and metal-cutting tools. It is used in refractories, brake linings, heating elements, and thermistors. It is also used in semiconductor technology.

Silicon Carbide is a highly sustainable material used in various applications, including electronics, abrasives, and ceramics. Made from silicon and Carbon, Silicon Carbide is abundant in the earth’s crust and can be easily sourced. Additionally, Silicon Carbide is highly recyclable, making it an excellent candidate for a circular economy. By recycling Silicon Carbide, manufacturers can reduce their dependence on virgin materials, conserve resources, and reduce waste.
