Molybdenum(IV) Oxide (MoO₂)

Molybdenum(IV) Oxide (MoO₂), sometimes referred to as Molybdenum Dioxide, is a violet-colored solid that has good electrical conductivity due to the presence of delocalized electrons in its valence band. It is air sensitive and incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and strong bases.

Purities available between 99% and 99.999%
Typical Applications

Molybdenum(IV) Oxide (MoO₂) acts as a catalyst for several organic chemistry processes and the production of biodiesel. It is used in a variety of energy-based applications such as an anode material in rechargeable lithium batteries and fuel flexible solid oxide fuel cells. It can be used as a catalyst in hydrogen reforming processes. It also is used to manufacture molybdenum nano-wires
