Manganese Dioxide (MnO₂)

Manganese Dioxide (MnO₂), or Manganese (IV) Oxide, is a blackish or brown solid that occurs naturally as the mineral pyrolusite, the main ore of manganese.
Typical Applications

Manganese dioxide (MnO₂) is used in dry-cell batteries, such as alkaline and zinc-carbon batteries. MnO₂ is also used as a pigment. Other uses include as a precursor and reagent in chemical applications. There is promising potential to use MnO₂ in solid-state lithium-ion batteries
