Lead(II) Sulfide (PbS)

Lead(II) Sulfide (PbS) is a soft, silvery to black irregularly shaped crystalline powder that is stable at ambient temperature. It is insoluble in water and diluted acids but soluble in HN02 and dilute hot HCl. Lead(II) sulfide is an inert compound that is a semiconductor, photoconductor, and infrared radiation material.
These properties lend to its use in electronic components.
Composition

Pb= 80%, S= 14%, PbS= 93%, Fe= 0.5%, Zn= 2.5%, and Si0â‚‚= 0.5%

Typical Applications

Lead(II) Sulfide is used in ceramics, infrared radiation detectors, and semiconductors and photo-optic applications. It is a slip property modifier used in the friction industry to enhance heat conduction and regulate friction coefficient. It is also used as black pigment.

Packaging Options

25 kg. net per drum with 1,500 kg. net per pallet lot.
