Glass Abrasive Powder, Recycled
Recycled glass blasting media has been successfully substituted for silica sand and other blasting media in shipyard trials, other construction projects, and equipment cleaning under MIL-A-22262B(SH), Amendment-2.
Glass powders can be used as abrasives for blast cleaning & preparation of surfaces, fillers for injection molded plastic parts, added to the plastic resin in injection molding applications, and as a reinforcement for thermoplastics to reduce warpage, where they give high weld strength and impact strength, and improve dimensional stability without discoloration. They also provide corrosion resistance in the fields of paint and lining. Specialty glasses are available in many colors and can be used in landscaping, tabletops, aquarium chips, firepits, swimming pool accents, and floor tiles.
