Typical Applications

Gadolinium Oxide, which is used for making optical glass, and gadolinium yttrium garnets have microwave applications. High purity Gadolinium Oxide is used for making phosphors for color TV tubes. Other applications include sensitized fluorescent materials in medical devices, nuclear reactor control material, and additives for optical prisms.
