Erbium Oxide (Er₂O₃)
Erbium(III) Oxide (Er₂O₃), or Erbium Oxide, is a light pink paramagnetic solid. It is insoluble in water but soluble in mineral acids. Er₂O₃ is hygroscopic and will readily absorb moisture and CO2 from the atmosphere.

Typical Applications
Erbium oxide is used in vacuum deposition, and as a colorant in the manufacture of pink glass, cubic zirconia, and porcelain. Other applications are in ceramics, glass, and solid-state lasers. Er₂O₃ is commonly used as an activator ion in making laser materials.
