Corn cob grit is used for finishing, tumbling, and blasting. It is used as a carrier for fertilizers, insecticides, and feed additives and as an absorbent for hazardous wastes, liquids, grease, and oils.
Corn cob grit is considered a soft abrasive. It is beneficial for jobs that require both an abrasive and absorbent counterpart, as it absorbs oils and liquids when the surface is being polished, finished, or deburred.
