Typical Applications

Cobalt(II) Sulfide is used as a catalyst for hydrogenation or hydrodesulfurization reactions, It is used to purify the cobalt from its ore & in qualitative inorganic analysis. It is also an electrode material for lithium-sulfur, thermal, and lithium-ion secondary batteries.

Cobalt(IV) sulfide is a promising battery electrode material exhibiting good electrochemical properties for lithium-sulfur, thermal, and lithium-ion secondary batteries.
