Chromium (VI) Oxide (CrO₃)
Purities are available from 99% to 99.999%.
Chromium(VI) oxide is used for chromium plating, copper stripping, and as a corrosion inhibitor. It is used as the main raw material for electroplating used in making bicycles, sewing machines, watches, meters, flashlights, and household hardware. It also is the main ingredient in the manufacturing of high-purity metal chromium. It is used as a mordant in wool fabric dyeing, as an oxidant in the printing and dyeing industry, and also used as a wood preservative. It also is used as an oxidizing agent for the conversion of secondary alcohols into ketones (Jones oxidation) and in ‘chromic mixtures’ for cleaning laboratory glassware.
Shipped only in steel drums
