Calcium Hydroxide Ca(OH)₂

Calcium Hydroxide Ca(Oh)₂, also known as slaked lime or hydrated lime, is a soft white crystalline, odorless powder with an alkaline, bitter taste. The standard hydrated lime is ultra-low lead and ultra-low heavy metals grade. The Vitacal® H food grade meets the 13th edition of the food chemicals codex specifications. Both hydrated lime products offered by Reade are -325 mesh.
Typical Applications

Hydrated lime is used in chemical manufacturing, water and wastewater treatment, acid neutralization, construction, agriculture, and other environmental applications. It is used as a mortar additive to improve workability and durability, reduce shrinkage cracking, and as a soil stabilizer to increase the pH of acidic soil and improve soil structure. It can improve plant growth and nutrient uptake. It also is used as a fungicide and pesticide for plant protection. Calcium hydroxide removes impurities and suspended particles from water and treats acidic water and wastewater to neutralize acidity and remove heavy metals. It is also used as a sorbent in flue gas treatment to control SO₂ and SO₃ emissions applications.
