Boron Oxide / Boric Acid Powder (B₂O₃)

Boron Oxide, also referred to as Boric Acid, B₂O₃, is white, hard, glassy solid, also known as diboron trioxide. It is almost always amorphic. When hydrated, it reverts to boric acid. Its properties allow boric acid to be used to increase thermal resistance and mechanical strength.

Purities are available from 98% (industrial grade) to 99.9995% (high purity grade)
Typical Applications

Boron Oxide is used in the production of, and is a major component of, borosilicate glass. It is used in specialty ceramics and refractories. It is the starting material for synthesizing other boron compounds, such as boron carbide. It is an additive in glass fibers (optical fibers) and a fluxing agent for glass and enamels. It is also used as an insecticide. Boric oxide is an excellent solvent for metallic oxides at high temperatures and is useful in metallurgy.
