Reade Sturgeon Graduates GS 10KSB Program
EAST PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island – Reade International Corp., DBA Reade Advanced Materials, a global distributor of specialty chemical solids, is proud to announce the graduation of Amanda Reade Sturgeon from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program. 92 entrepreneurs graduated Monday from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Rhode Island program which was a combination of the three previous cohorts.
Governor Gina Raimondo attended the graduation ceremony, John Rogers Executive Vice President Goldman Sachs, Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza, Warwick Mayor Joseph Solomon, and Community College of Rhode Island President Meghan Hughes among others. The ceremony was hosted at Providence’s WaterFire Arts Center, the recently renovated multi-use arts center.
Reade Sturgeon, READE’s controller, spent 10-plus weeks at Community College of Rhode Island studying a specialized business and management curriculum designed for small business owners and developed by Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Business owners who apply and are selected to take part in the program benefit from a network of educational partners that work together to manage program operations and provide business resources. The program’s curriculum includes more than 100 hours of practical, peer-learning education focusing on financial management, negotiations, marketing, and other business principles.
“Governor Gina Raimondo is extremely supportive of Rhode Island Small Business and was persistent in persuading the Goldman Sachs Foundation to operate this program in Rhode Island. READE International is most fortunate to have been selected to participate and benefit from this leadership program.” -President, Emily Reade
READE has already put Reade Sturgeon’s initial growth plan in action and recently hired a Director of Sales to expand business opportunities and looks forward to benefiting from the supportive network of advisors and peers.
