Reade dondates key materials needed for the production of hand sanitizer at the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic.

EAST PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island – Reade International Corp., DBA Reade Advanced Materials, a global distributor of specialty chemical solids, is proud to announce their donation of hand sanitizer ingredients to The Industrious Spirit Company (ISCO), Providence’s first distillery since Prohibition. At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, ISCO began producing hand sanitizer at their own cost and sharing it with the public. ISCO utilizes a byproduct from their vodka distillation process, high-proof ethanol, in addition to hydrogen peroxide, glycerol and purified water.

Recognizing Rhode Island’s need for hand sanitizer, READE’s support will further enable ISCO to support the local community and produce another round of sanitizer. READE will be donating two drums of Hydrogen Peroxide and Glycerine, two key ingredients in the World Health Organization’s formula, to help ISCO continue this worthy cause.

“I am continually proud of the exceptional team we have at READE. From producing magnesium powder during WWII, to providing what we can to combat COVID-19, throughout my 34 years here and our long company history the READE family and team has consistently extended a hand to our community and country in times of need.”- Vice President, Bethany Satterfield

Free hand sanitizer will continue to be handed out to the public at ISCO’s #WishWeCouldWindow located at their distillery on Sims Avenue in Providence, while supplies last, and a purchase of their sustainably sourced vodka is highly encouraged!

READE is looking forward to developing this collaboration with ISCO, partnering with the City of Providence, and other small businesses seeking this highly sought-after product to help keep employees and customers safe. In this unprecedented time, READE acknowledges the need to come together as a community to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic and congratulates ISCO on their admirable efforts.
