Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Director of Sales, the Account Manager will source specialty chemical solids for new and existing customers, maintain key existing customer’s raw material requirements, and meet the company’s Quality Objectives. The Account Manager will have the potential to grow within the company. This job is located in our East Providence, RI office.

Job Description

  • Manage all areas of order processing: quote new and existing customers domestically and internationally, negotiate raw material purchases with vendors, forecast customer’s material needs and meet their delivery deadlines
  • Arrange material shipments with the plants and schedule logistics with freight providers
  • Build in-depth relationships and partnerships with all key customers and suppliers
  • Annual customer visits to establish and maintain relationships, better understand needs, future direction, next project, etc.
  • Provide customer assistance with any issues (quality, technical, logistics, etc)
  • Within the government sales responsibility, the Account Manager will track government purchasing trends applicable to Reade’s set-aside as a SDVOSB and submit and manage the bids applicable to Reade’s products for government and federal prospects
  • Coordinate and participate in trade shows and matchmaking events
  • Understand and capture the customer’s needs and requirements, communicate these internally, and provide quotes to customers by matching Reade’s products to customer’s requirements
  • Identify new products and inform our company on market trends
  • Negotiate with vendors to obtain the best product, best price and terms/conditions for Reade and the customer
  • Get POs from the customer, verify the information in the POs and then route the POs internally
  • Submit POs to vendors and arrange logistics (van/ truck/ rail/ or ocean freight)
  • Provide support to territory customers in terms of quality issues, technical issues and any other issues
  • Follow ISO 9001 standards and cybersecurity policy as written in our company manuals
  • Assist in answering the phone, receive and route customer/ vendors calls as necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred; will consider Associates or Technical diploma with enhanced work experience
  • 5+ years of industrial sales success, preferably in chemical sales, government sales experience a plus
  • Capacity to develop sales strategies providing value added services and promote products
  • Excellent problem solving skills with acute attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Friendly and focused customer service skills
  • Account Manager must have the ability to foster strong and positive working relationships throughout the company and with current and potential customers
  • Dedication to their department and a willingness to help other team members as needed
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Capable of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members and other departments within the organization
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Capability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple RFQs at the same time
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of a CRM Software
  • Account Manager will need to pass a background check and must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a phone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Account Manager in this position frequently communicates via phone and email with customers who have inquiries about specific materials we sell and with our vendors who supply our materials. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

This job is base salary plus commission.
